THE BOILED ONE PHENOMENON
The Boiled One
This is an analog horror work created by creator doctornowhere (silasonion), who is primarily active on YouTube. It is available to view on YouTube. It unfolds in a documentary format, recording a fictional "dangerous broadcast accident" using VHS tape-style video, slides, and text.
Story Flow
1. Beginning of the Video
At the beginning of the video, a warning is displayed to the viewer. They are instructed to "prepare earplugs, a pencil, paper, and a Bible (page 91:10)," and are urged to continue watching with earplugs if they hear strange sounds.
Furthermore, they are asked to write the following sentence on the paper: "I can see this paper. I can see my hands. I cannot hear thousands of screams. I am a breathing human being on Earth."
2. A Cancelled Documentary, a Broadcast Accident
The setting is a children's nature documentary broadcast in Pennsylvania. It had been cancelled in 2001 after the death of the male host, but on August 13, 2003, episode 13 was suddenly rebroadcast. During the broadcast, unidentified footage interrupted the program.
3. The Appearance of the Boiled One
The hijacked broadcast showed a creepy entity with a "melted red face," speaking to viewers in a "warm but unsettling voice."
Furthermore, phenomena such as intermittent superimposed footage from hospital and bedroom surveillance cameras were observed on the screen.
This entity was classified as PHEN-228, and even non-English speaking viewers accurately remembered what PHEN-228 said.
4. Symptoms Experiencing in Viewers
Those who saw the face of the boiled one experienced a cognitive hazard, meaning they would "never forget" that face. Afterward, they fell into a pseudo-coma, becoming completely immobile.
There were also testimonies of hearing trumpet sounds and thousands of laughter and screams at night.
5. End of Video: References to the Apocalypse
The boiled one, with trumpet sounds in the background, preached rhetoric reminiscent of Christian eschatology.
